Always something . . .

Well, it seems as though there is always something going on in the NFL today. First, the Saints' and all that goes with that--appeals, punishments, etc. still in the news and now, the list of players filing lawsuits for past concussion injuries gets longer and longer. What in the world is going on? It's really kind of sad and takes away from the love of the game! I am not sure of how I feel about the NFL not doing enough to inform the players about the dangers in the past or today. Maybe, maybe not--but doesn't common sense kind of tell them that it's dangerous? I mean football is very aggressive by its nature to the point of violence. Is the same thing happening in boxing? because that's even worse to me--there is no protective equipment whatsoever.
Our culture is so desensitized to violence--people forget how violent these sports are--it's the mentality of needing more and more action, violence -blood and guts and gore, and destruction to the point where it is never enough. Does anyone agree? Would love to hear your thoughts and comments--

To end on a more happy note--I read this headline about Michael Phelps this mornin--at last something positive in the sports world---

The Baltimore native slashed more than four seconds off his season-best time Friday and held off a late charge form Tyler Clary to win his second race in two days at the Indianapolis Grand Prix. Beside, could he really disappoint mom?
Have a great day and God Bless-

What Now?!!???

So, Manning goes to Denver and they send Tebow to New York!?!?!? Maybe it's the female in me --but that just makes no sense--lol! Tebow will be a back-up quarterback and I don't understand why he went there--if anyone knows please explain it:)

I am also not sure why Manning picked Denver--was is money or what? Let me know out there what you know--lol!

Ok and the other big news---Sean Payton and the Saints--WOW! I am pleased and surprised--I was hoping they would all receive just consequences, but I never imagined they would actually do it! I guess I thought that they would just be fined. I mean, I am not saying I am glad they got punished--it's just that to make money off of hurting other players on purpose was just so despicable to me--I felt they needed to definitely have consequences that made them see that! It's so sad to me that you love to watch the great game of football and root for your team and have fun and behind the scenes they are doing this horrible stuff--I don't know, I guess I am naive, but it really is disappointing. So the thing is I want this behavior to stop and it seems like the consequences are fitting to the crime, so that hopefully no other teams start this or if there are others doing it also--they will stop now! That is what I meant by being 'pleased'!
Would love to hear your thoughts and comments--do you agree or disagree?
Be kind to one another:)

Tebowmania:)

Good Morning to all--
Just read a headline that said "Tebow took news of Manning deal with class"! That does not surprise me at all. Tim Tebow is a man of God, integrity, and joy. He is a class act! He has the Holy Spirit living inside him and exudes that to the world! We can all learn a lesson from his obedience and attitude. He definitely inspires me to be a better person in the name of the Lord!
Not much time to write this morning--but would love to hear your comments:)!
Have a blessed day!

I am so sad:(!

It's a sad day for me today-- just read a headline that said "Dolphins out of Manning chase"--LOL! I was really hoping he would go to Miami and give the Dolphins a way to turn around their long stretch of losing seasons. Oh well, maybe the other guy will do it for them. I don't really know who Matt Flynn is but I guess I better find out-:) Anyway, let me hear your thoughts! Would love to know what you think about the whole Manning thing-- and if there are any Dolphin Fans out there?

Hope everyone is doing well today! Here in South Carolina we are having record high temperatures--I am soooo not used to the heat-lol!

Would also love to hear about how you found my site and if there is anyone who saw the John 3:16 link--let me know:)
Thanks and God Bless, Jennifer

It's been a week??? !!?

Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since I posted last. Worked 72 hours last week so it was tough to get any posts in. So, I guess the big news is how the Colts let Manning go! He is a free agent now and not sure where he is going . . . He is on a tour of teams even as I blog this! I would love it if he went to Miami!!!!-he is headed there after he meets with the Cardinals. Maybe Miami would finally have a winning season??!!!? But even with all his talent and experience, Manning's future isn't necessarily secure; his neck issues are ever looming over him-after all that is the main reason the Colts' coach let him go. How many of us are in that position these days? With the economy the way it is, I am sure there are many out there who are not sure of their future; even with talent and education these days --things are not secure. Nothing in this world is really secure. Ever wonder how you can feel secure? Is there anything that you can feel secure about? If you ever want to know the answer (and yes, there is something you can be sure of)there is another blog of mine that you can visit--jennifersjeremiah2911.blogspot.com
Hope you all check it out!
Take care-Jennifer

Making money on hurting players on purpose???!!!

Just read a new headline that I wanted to post about. The New Orleans Saints cited for really inexcusable behavior--here is what the article said:
"New Orleans Saints players and at least one assistant coach maintained a bounty pool of up to $50,000 the last three seasons to reward game-ending injuries inflicted on opposing players, including Brett Favre and Kurt Warner, the NFL said Friday. "Knockouts" were worth $1,500 and "cart-offs" $1,000, with payments doubled or tripled for the playoffs.
The NFL said the pool amounts reached their height in 2009, the year the Saints won the Super Bowl.
The league said between 22 and 27 defensive players were involved in the program and that it was administered by defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, with the knowledge of coach Sean Payton.
Williams apologized for his role, saying: "It was a terrible mistake, and we knew it was wrong while we were doing it."
No punishments have been handed out, but they could include suspension, fines and loss of draft picks. The NFL said the findings were corroborated by multiple, independent sources, during an investigation by the league's security department.
Players contributed cash to the pool, at times large amounts, and in some cases the money pledged was directed against a specific person, the NFL said."
So, they were making money off hurting players to get them out of the game! OMGosh!

This was really disconcerting to me. Because I love the game so much-it really upsets me that this stuff goes on--I guess I am naive sometimes to think that this stuff doesn't, but it somehow still surprises me when I hear about it!
I had a thought after I found out about this that maybe I should become a college football fan-where this won't happen--or won't happen as much--BUT WAIT--then there's the whole thing at Penn State--These are the reasons the world needs God so much! I pray that these players and coaches receive the consequences they deserve. And I pray that God watches over us all!

What's New?

I guess Danica Patrick is who's in the news lately--- Never been a racing car fan (to put it nicely)--I guess I might be more prone to watch it as to root for a female racer--not that I'm a feminist-lol! It's just that I find racing really really boring so there would have to be something to peak my interest!!! Sorry, to all the racing fans out there--nothing personal--lol!
Boy, do I miss football!!!!:( Yes, I said it again-it's just that life is somewhat boring without it:)
Keep me posted on what keeps you going during this long season of meaningless other sports--lol:)
Just read a fairly exciting headline for baseball--it said that MLB will add a wild-card club to each league for playoff format--making it 10 teams now instead of 8! This is interesting to me cause I do like baseball:) I became a fan of the Braves when I was married. Used to think baseball was boring to watch too-lol--BUT once you have a team you like to root for (very important:)) and you understand the game more-that it's not just hitting and throwing the ball--it is definitely more fun to watch. Anyway, with these extra teams added--some of the underdogs will have more of a chance and I am always up for that!
Have a great week--God's Blessings to all:)
